Reliance JioFi dongle now costs Rs 499 ‘effectively’

Reliance Jio has announced a new plan for its JioFi dongle, aiming to make it more attractive for subscribers. The JioFi wireless dongle which originally costs Rs 999 will now be available at Rs 499 to Jio postpaid users. However, there is a catch here. The company will provide a cashback of Rs 500 only after 12 months of usage on Jio postpaid which would effectively make the price of the JioFi dongle come down from Rs 999 to Rs 499 after the cash back.

Jio postpaid subscribers can opt for the Rs 199 unlimited plan per month with no daily data limit along with 50 paise per minute international calling. To be eligible for this plan, you will have to buy a new JioFi device along with a new Jio postpaid SIM.

Users you will then have to activate and use postpaid SIM with JioFi device. The Rs 500 cashback will be in the form of a credit on their postpaid accounts on the payment of monthly bills for 12 consecutive cycles.

In another news, Reliance Jio recently rolled out three new plans for its JioLink subscribers at a starting price of Rs 699. JioLink is the company’s 4G WiFi hotspot service which is still under testing phase. It is currently available in some parts of the country. The new plans are for existing JioLink subscribers. For those unaware, JioLink service comes with router-like CPE device that is installed at the subscriber’s house from which an Ethernet cable connection or wireless connectivity is provided. This connection is similar to what happens in satellite dish television setup. JioLink is mostly targetted at shops, malls or places where larger number of users can connect to the Internet.
