As expected, the trailer takes us to an era that we have only read and heard of. Bhansali’s style of presentation and treating a story display his craftsmanship that has wowed us umpteen times in the past. And Padmavati promises to be no different.

Be it Deepika’s unibrow, Shahid’s matured and charismatic royal look or Ranveer’s intriguing avatar, Bhansali has given distinct appearances to each of his main characters.SLB has mastered the art of presenting actors as artistes and not as film stars. And as Rani Padmini, Maharawal Ratan Singh and Sultan Alauddin Khilji, Deepika, Shahid and Ranveer respectively seem to have played their respective parts with utmost conviction.

Deepika and Ranveer were brought together on screen for the first time by Bhansali in Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ram Leela. As Ram and Leela, Ranveer  and Deepika set the silverscreen ablaze and they recreated the same magic in Bajirao Mastani. But in Padmavati, the duo wouldn’t be sharing screen space. Deepika has been paired opposite Shahid, the protagonist while Ranveer plays the villain.

Also starring Aditi Rao Hydari, Padmavati is slated to release on December 1.
