Micromax announced the launch of Bharat 1, a 4G VoLTE-enabled feature phone on 17 October. The company launched the device in collaboration with BSNL for a price of Rs 2,200. The phone is aimed to target the 500 million feature phone users market in India and will be available for purchase starting 20 October.
BSNL has offered unlimited data and calling on the Bharat 1 feature phone at a price of Rs 97 per month. The phone packs a 2,000 mAh battery along with a 2.4-inch QVGA display. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 processor and comes with 512 MB RAM alongside 4 GB internal storage. The phone comes preloaded with ‘Micromax Entertainment’ app which offers Live TV, music, movies and videos.
The Bharat 1 also sports a VGA selfie-camera for video calling purposes and 2 MP camera module on the back. In terms of connectivity, the phone has two 4G VoLTE-enabled SIM slots. Micromax has added support for 22 Indian languages out of the box in Bharat 1.
