This Unique Specialist Construction Business currently turns over in excess of £100 Million Per Annum. Privately owned the group is looking to appoint a strong Head of General Management & Administration to sit within the management team. Based in the Head Office of Gerrards Cross – Buckinghamshire .
The role will involve occasional travel but on the whole 90% should be based in the HQ in England . Working closely alongside the General Manager of Operations & the Commercial Director you will ensure full support and guidance is on hand for the Construction Teams in United Kingdom, Europe and America. The company has huge in house capability from design & technical, systems, mechanical, electrical and so on. With over 250 Staff at present its an exciting time to join a growing business .
Our client is looking to appoint someone with drive, strong communication skills and a desire to achieve. This person will handle a variety of functions for the business and will be seen as the go to person when problems arise.
Below gives a over view of what aspects you will take ownership for:
• Human Resources & Training
• Information Technology
• Accounts & Banking
• Travel , Insurances , Group Transport
• Coordination of Machinery & Equipment
• Dealing with external parties – Lawyers, Agents , Suppliers
• Visas , Licenses, Leases , FM of Company owned Property
• Advertising , PR , Social Media , Branding
What is absolutely key in this role is that the prospective candidate can take ownership, lead, problem solve, deal with multiple tasks at any one time and work at a fast and proactive pass. In this industry time is money so you will understand what decisions need action and full support.
You will be reporting into an extremely sharp and direct character who is looking for someone to add value and take ownership of this role . Construction experience is not critical as our client want someone that has experience of dealing in a fast paced industry under extreme pressure. If you have the ability to stay calm, multi task , schedule and lead then the construction experience and sequencing will make sense in the near future .
GBP 6,000 to 8,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

You may well have worked in a different sector such as manufacturing, logistics, armed forces. If you can show that you have managed team to deadlines and been able to deliver on tasks then this is critical. You will have the attitude, determination and ability to work outside the box in creating solutions to problems as they arise. You will treat the annual budget as if it were your own and this type of leadership has the potential to yield great results and progression within the business. Our business is not looking for someone to purely delegate and point fingers but to sort and push forward. If you are looking for a simple 9-5 then this role maybe too fast paced but if you are seeking to join a growing business with lots of career potential then this will be you.
