Job description
The Account Manager is responsible for generating revenues mainly from MENA and Mediterranean based agencies and direct clients as well as managing BBC sales representatives in these markets. The Account Manager prospects for new business in these accounts as well as developing and retaining existing business for the BBC. The Account Manager achieves results by developing relationships with management and staff within agency and client business directly and via the BBC Representatives, and works to position BBC Advertising opportunities as “front of mind” when repeat, lapsed and new business opportunities arise. This Account Manager role encompasses the sales for BBC World News TV, BBC.com (digital) and BBC Arabic (digital)
A key contributor in the regional sales team, the Account Manager:
- Delivers the sales revenue target for the assigned area of responsibility
- Maximises new business potential from advertisers and agencies
- Manages sales opportunities and delivers compelling proposals and pitches to secure business and to support any BBC Sales Reps in applicable markets
- Works closely with the leadership team and contributes to Key Account and Opportunity plans
- Develops strong relationships with agencies/trading desks & client management to maximise revenue opportunities and position the BBC as advertising partner of choice
- Promotes the capabilities of BBC Advertising within their assigned sales territory through regular face to face contact with clients and agencies
- Provides regular sales updates and forecasts to the regional head on current revenue and the sales pipeline
- Works collaboratively with the regional programmatic sales leads

Education
Bachelor’s degree and above
Professional Experience
- Experience in a similar role is strongly desired
- In depth knowledge of the clients and agencies in designated territories
- Media / Advertising sector experience is essential
- Experience in a consumer-facing business is essential
- Experience working across multiple markets and territories is desirable
